The best photoshoot spots in Antalya
Antalya is the most varied town on the coast for a shoot. In one walk you can get narrow streets with bougainvillea, an old harbour full of yachts and cliffs above the sea. Here's where to go and when.
Kaleiçi old town
Narrow streets, wooden houses with bay windows, bougainvillea on the walls and Hadrian's Gate. Photos in Kaleiçi feel warm and intimate, nothing like a typical resort. It's the best spot for a love story or stylish portraits.
- Great for: couples, portraits, friends, families with older kids.
- Best time: before 9 am or an hour before sunset. At midday the old town is hot and crowded.
- Tip: expect cobblestones and slopes, so wear comfortable shoes and change for the photos.
The old harbour
The harbour below the old town: yachts, boats, city walls and cliffs, with the whole bay and the mountains across the water. It combines easily with a walk through Kaleiçi: we go down to the water as the light softens.
The Lower Düden waterfall
The waterfall drops off a cliff straight into the sea. It's one of Antalya's most striking shots, especially at sunset when the spray catches the light. The viewpoint is in a park in the Lara area.
- Great for: couples, proposals, flying dresses.
- Best time: evening. The viewpoint is busy during the day.
- Tip: it can be windy by the water, so keep a hair tie handy.
Konyaaltı beach
A long pebble beach with the Taurus Mountains behind it. The mountains give photos more depth than an ordinary beach, and the wide promenade lets us shoot without crowds even in summer.
- Great for: families, flying dresses, shots by the water.
- Tip: pebbles are uncomfortable barefoot, so bring light sandals.
The cliffs in the centre
Parks with viewpoints run along the cliffs above the sea, with the water, the mountains and the sunset in view. A good choice if you stay in the centre and don't want to travel.
How to combine spots
- 1 hour (€79): Kaleiçi and the old harbour.
- 2 hours (€129): Kaleiçi and the harbour, then the Lower Düden waterfall or Konyaaltı beach at sunset.
- If you stay in Lara or Konyaaltı, I'll suggest a spot near your hotel.
Send me your dates and hotel, and I'll suggest which spots are easiest to combine on your day. Prices and reviews are on the photographer in Antalya page.
